Captains! We are incredibly close to launching the official public demo for Abyssal Merge, and we need your help to cross the finish line.

To get everything polished, we will be closing down the current playtest soon to focus entirely on the upcoming demo release. Before we do, we’ve just dropped a massive pre-demo build packed with new features, progression systems, and content.

We need as many eyes on this as possible please jump in, break things, and leave your feedback in our community hub!

Here is what’s new in this build:

~ The Story Begins

The abyss demands a paper trail. We’ve implemented the core narrative layer over the gameplay for the demo. Sign your contract, speak with your boss, and pay attention to the Merchant he might just help you survive the journey.

~ The Shipyard is Open

Your hard-earned coins finally have a home. Head over to the Shipyard to unlock brand-new vessels and expand your fleet.

~ The Research Station

Track your anomalies and overall progress. Level up your fleet here to meet the requirements to unlock the next terrifying region.

~ Market Expansion

The old man has been restocking. We've added a brand-new shelf to the market featuring new items to aid your runs. Don't forget to chat with him he has some grim wisdom to pass along.

~ Boat Progression & Essence

Dead horrors now drop Essence during your runs. Collect it to gain boat experience, level up your ships, and unlock more skill points and upgrade slots.

~ Audio Goodness

The abyss sounds a lot livelier (and creepier). We’ve added a massive wave of new SFX and atmospheric music to both the menus and the core gameplay loop.

~ Mac & Controller Support

Mac Players Rejoice: Abyssal Merge is now fully playable on macOS!

Full Controller Support: Couch captains welcome plug in your favorite controller and dive right in with seamless native support. Steamdeck too!

We Need Your Help!

As we prep for the public demo launch, your feedback on this build is critical. Please test out the progression, try playing on Mac or with a controller if you can, and let us know how the balancing feels.

Thank you all for sailing these dark waters with us. Drop your feedback in the discussions, and let's get this demo ready for the world!
